As the second week comes to an end our team have finished a great deal of work on the robot, on top of this with the launch of our chocolate fundraiser this week has been full of tasks to complete. The build team has been making great progress on constructing our own field elements, as well as ordering parts, and finalizing our robots design. The programming team has begun to go over the rules and collecting the tools and electrical parts required to put the brains into our robot! The business team has started work on a pit design for the quickly approaching competition in March. Two of our business team members have started to work on an essay for our Chairman’s award with the media team. The media team is still working on posting on our social media accounts and making daily posts on all of our social media platforms. This week we will be beginning to honoring those that have shown our values both while at the shop and in their daily life. Thease are people that exemplify the S.P.U.D. • Weekly Newsletter #1 1/6 - 1/13

As the new game begins so does a new team. This season there has been an exponential increase in membership for all grades across the board. On January 5th, we joined other Central Minnesota teams at Becker High School for the Destination: Deep Space Reveal. Our objectives this season are to build a robot to do one or all of the following to score points: -Get cargo (Rubber balls scatter through the field) into their pods -Attach plates delivered to the robot via. loading docks members load -Hoist it's self up on increasingly high platforms There will also be some special rules for what we can do. This year for the first 15 seconds there will be a black out, stopping our drivers from seeing the robot directly. We are excited to use new technology, like vision tracking software this season. As you can imaging there is a lot to manage in order to get this done, but never the less, our Build Team has been very diligent on designing the blueprints for the robot, and have started to layout a skeleton for our future bot.
